Sharon Martinson Sharon Kay (Wilson) Martinson, age 64 of Arthur, passed away on Wednesday evening, May 7, 2008 at her home in Arthur. She was born October 13, 1943 in Ogallala, Nebraska the fourth of seven children born to Jesse Stephen and Juliette Elizabeth (Moody) Wilson. Sharon was united in marriage to Parker Eugene Martinson on April 22, 1961. From this union two sons were born, Glenn Eugene Martinson of Montrose, CO and Bruce Wilson Martinson and wife ReNee of Pembruck, NH. Sharon has four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. Other family members surviving her are two sisters, Marlene and husband Spencer Larsen of Arthur and Janice and husband Denny Morrell of Ogallala; two brothers, Jim Wilson of Valentine and Jerry E. Ward of North Platte; three brothers in law, Wilton Dorris of Lemoyne, Jake Peterson of Arthur and Johnny Martinson of Craig, CO; and a special sister of the heart, Mary Piatt of Montrose, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Julia Wilson; two sisters, Joan Dorris and Melody Peterson and a sister in law, Linda Wilson. Sharon lived her young life in Arthur County, attending grade school at District # 19 in Wilson Valley and graduating from the Arthur County High School in 1961. She and Parker moved to Paoli, Colorado where they lived for two years before moving to Tucson, Arizona where they lived for ten years. The couple then moved to Montrose, Colorado where they resided for thirty five years until Sharon’s ill health brought them back to Arthur and her family. Sharon was baptized on July 17, 1977 in the Umconphgre River and had been a member of the Montrose Christian Church since that time. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14th at the Arthur Baptist Church with Pastor Benjamin Keene officiating. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Memorial Health Care Hospice, 645 Osage Street, Sidney, Nebraska 69162 in Sharon’s memory.
