Ruth Petersen

Ruth K. Petersen, age 96 of Ogallala, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Indian Hills Manor.  She was born July 11, 1914 at Inavale, Nebraska the daughter of John H. and Minnie (Johnson) Koelmel.  The family moved from Inavale in 1915 to a farm west of Bloomington, Nebraska.  Ruth attended schools in Bloomington, graduating from the Bloomington High School in 1933.

Ruth married Neale A. Petersen on September 5, 1934 at Minden, Nebraska.  Ruth was employed at Good All Electric for five years, but for the most part was always a devoted mother and homemaker.

Ron (Trudy) Petersen of Albuquerque, NM

Bill (Karen) Petersen of Surprise, AZ

11 Grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren

3 sisters,  Clara Brixius and Verna Walton

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neale in 1996; a daughter, Donna in 1961 and a son, Steve in 1989; and a granddaughter, Shelly in 1989.

Memorial services will be held at the Gubser Funeral Chapel on Friday, April 8th at 1:00 P.M.  with Rev. Mark Carlton officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Ogallala Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at gubserfuneralhome.com.  Gubser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
