Roger Dale Helmuth, age 74 of Ogallala, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at his home. He was born July 2, 1933 in Oconto, Nebraska the son of Donald and Cecile (Benson) Helmuth.

Roger graduated from the Ogallala High School before joining the United States Air Force in 1952. He was stationed in Korea. Following his discharge in 1956 Roger returned to Ogallala and was employed by the Keith County News for many years.

 Roger married Karen DeVoe on August 23, 1958 in Ogallala. He was later employed by High Plains Printing until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and sports of all kinds and reading. He especially enjoyed the special times spent with his granddaughters and great granddaughter as well as playing cards with his family.

One great granddaughter, Luxus Gallegos

Sister, Barbara and husband Randy Konen

Sister in law, Mae Helmuth

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dick Helmuth; a daughter, Theresa Helmuth.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21^st at St. Luke’s Catholic Church with Father Bryan Ernest officiating. Inurnment will be in the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery south of Maxwell at 2:00 p.m. (CDT) on Wednesday. There will be no visitation.
