Marie Scollin

Marie H. Scollin, age 92 of Paxton, passed away Monday evening, March 1, 2010 at the Sutherland Care Center.

Marie was born May 23, 1917 at her parent’s home north of Sarben, the daughter of Ray and Hilma (Olson) Miller. She was baptized as a member of the Glen Echo Baptist Church. Marie graduated from the North Platte High School in 1936 and then attended Kearney State Teacher’s College. She taught in several rural schools from 1937 until retiring in 1963.

Marie married Eugene Scollin in Kimball, Nebraska on December 28, 1940. To this union two children were born.

Survivors include:
Her daughter, Jean Follis of Paxton
Her son, James R. (Diane) Scollin of North Platte
Five grandchildren, Kenneth Witt, Shelly Witt, Royce Scollin, Josh Ames and
Randa Scollin

Five great grandchildren and two great-great grandsons
Sister in law, Frances Mell of North Platte
And a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Scollin; a sister, Alice Hughbanks; a brother, Raymond Miller; and a son in law, LeRoy Follis.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5th at the Gubser Funeral Chapel with Reverend Robert Hughbanks officiating. Inurnment will be in the North Platte Cemetery.
