Linda L. Martens, age 61 of Grant, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009 at the Ogallala Community Hospital.

Linda was born September 20, 1948 at Ogallala the daughter of Patrick and Evelyn (Woodley) Smyth. She attended schools in Ogallala graduating in 1966 from the Ogallala High School.

Linda married Charles Pollard in November of 1966. Two children, Shelley and Greg, were born to this union. In December of 1989 she married Steve Martens.

Linda worked for nearly twenty years as a crop insurance agent and loved serving her customers with a smile. She enjoyed playing darts and spending time with her family and friends.

Daughter, Shelley French of Ogallala

Son, Greg (Shelly) Pollard of Grant

Grandchildren, Jacy and Kylee French

Shalee and Garrett Pollard

Sister in law, Darla Smyth of Contennial, CO

She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Evelyn Smyth; and brothers, Donald, Larry, Bob, Mike and Bernie Smyth.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30^th at the Gubser Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kurt Hatteberg of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Venango officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Ogallala Cemetery at a later date.
