Kathryn Gaston Kathryn Gaston Kathryn Ann Gaston, age 79, longtime Ogallala resident, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the Indian Hills Manor Nursing Home. She was born April 3, 1930 at Paxton, Nebraska the daughter of Henry and Mary Hagge. On Septemer 9, 1951 she married Robert D. Gaston at Ogallala. The couple were lifelong residents of Ogallala, graduating with the Class of 1948. For 17 years she worked for the TRW company and retired as a foreman from the Quality Control Department. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, First Congregational Church and the Eastern Star. Among her hobbies were golf, spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, collecting cookbooks and gardening. Survivors include: Her husband, Robert D. Gaston of Ogallala Children, Vicky and John Chada of Salina, KS Shelly and David Olson of Ogallala Lori and Bill Holmstedt of Paxton Mark and Leah Gaston of Omaha Grandchildren, Wendie Bryan and Kenny Miller of Topeka, KS Mike Chada and Shannon Juranek of Lincoln, NE Melissa and Lincoln Wagner of Kearney Lesley and Mikel Clark of Kearney Dan and Natalie Holmstedt of Bismarck, ND Ben Holmstedt and Tawna Leach of Ogallala Aaron Holmstedt of Chadron Sam, Sarah and Annie Gaston of Omaha Great-Grandchildren, Landan and Tenley Wagner of Kearney Hadley Clark of Kearney Grace Kathryn Holmstedt of Bismarck, ND Brother, Kenneth and Dorothy Hagge of Ogallala Sister in law, Vannie Hoover of Ogallala She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Mary Hagge; in laws, Kenneth and Gayle Gaston and a brother, Robert Hagge.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12th at the United Church of Christ, First Congregational Church with Pastor Lauran Heidenreich officiating. Burial will be in the Ogallala Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the Gubser Funeral Home. The casket will not be open at the church.
