Jerry Curtis

Jerry W. Curtis, age 68 of Ogallala, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at his home. Jerry was born in Ogallala on November 2, 1938 the son of Ben and Lucy (Slobzewski) Curtis.

 

He grew up and attended schools in Ogallala graduating from the Ogallala High School in 1957. Following his graduation he attended McCook Community College. Jerry served in the United States Army from 1961 until his discharge in 1964. He married Judy Krajewski on August 7, 1965 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Ogallala.

 

Jerry had been employed in the auto parts business in Ogallala for over forty years. At the time of his death he was a salesman for A-One Supply. He was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church and the Ogallala Moose Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Jerry always enjoyed attending his son’s sporting events and in later years he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

His wife, Judy Curtis of Ogallala

His mother, Lucy Curtis of Ogallala

His sons, Jeff Curtis and fiancé Heather Rankin of Arlington, TX

Jarrod Curtis of Ogallala

Jason and wife Amy Curtis of Ogallala

Grandchildren, Jenna Curtis and Jayden Curtis

Step-grandchildren, Lacy Parker, Clint Parker, Katey Parker and Will Parker

Sister, Norma and husband Frank Paloucek of Holyoke, CO

And numerous nieces and nephews

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Curtis; a brother, Fritz Curtis and a sister, Delores Peterson

 

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 23rd at St. Luke’s Catholic Church with Father Art Faesser as celebrant. Burial will be in the Ogallala Cemetery with military honors rendered by the Keith County Veteran’s Organizations. Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 22nd at St. Luke’s Catholic Church.

 

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Gubser Funeral Home and prior to the Rosary at the church. A memorial has been established in Jerry’s memory. Online condolences may be sent at gubserfuneralhome.com. Gubser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
