Helen M. Wolf, age 86 of Ogallala, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the Ogallala Community Hospital.

Helen was born March 31, 1921 in Madrid, Nebraska the daughter of Fred and Katherine (Reifschneider) Reitz. She grew up on a farm north of Paxton. Helen graduated from the Paxton High School in 1939.

On June 2, 1946 she married Earl Wolf at Paxton. The couple farmed south of Paxton until December of 1980. Helen was a secretary for the SCS for seventeen years. After retiring she and Earl were the groundskeepers for the Keith County Fairgrounds for 21 years.

Helen enjoyed gardening, friends and neighbors, the morning coffee group and her granddaughters.

One son, Herb and wife Trudy Wolf of Windsor, CO

Three granddaughters, Samantha Cunningham of College Station, TX

Katy Wolf of Greeley, CO

Mary Wolf of WIndson, CO

One sister, Lillian Flaherty of Olathe, KS

Sister in law, Elma Reitz of Sutherland, NE

And numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and four sisters.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2007 at the Ogallala United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Miller officiating. Committal services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the Paxton Cemetery. Cremation was chosen and there will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Ogallala Community Hospital, Indian Hills Manor, the Ogallala Rescue Unit or the Donor’s Choice in Helen’s memory.
