Floyd  Korf

Floyd Eugene Korf, age 80 of Ogallala, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at his home.

 Floyd was born July 30, 1930 at Trenton, Nebraska the son of August and Mabel (Gull) Korf.  Floyd attended schools in Trenton, graduating from the Trenton High School in 1948.  Following his graduation he was employed Delbert Steinke’s farm south of Trenton.  Floyd was a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1951 – 1954.

Floyd married Maydene Sneddeker on July 3, 1955 at Brule, Nebraska.  He was employed for Goodall Electric and TRW Capacitor Division from March of 1955 until October of 1983.  He worked at Unical 76 from April of 1984 until June of 1994 when he retired.

Floyd was loved by all those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

 Survivors include:

One daughter,       Kelli Poe of Lincoln, NE

One son,              Richard (Dana) Korf of Lincoln, NE

Grandchildren,      Kym Lavigne of New York, NY

                           Colin Lavigne of Lorton, VA

He was preceded in death by his parents August and Mabel Korf; his wife, Maydene Korf; an infant daughter, Kristi Kay; six sisters and one brother.

 Graveside inurnment services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22^nd at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery with J.P. Johnson of the New Hope Church officiating.  A memorial has been established in his memory.  Online condolences may be sent at gubserfuneralhome.com.  Gubser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
