Everett C. Rutt, age 94 of Ogallala, a former Arnold area resident, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

He was born January 29, 1914 in Canada the son of John and Merna (McGee) Rutt. Everett grew up in the Gandy and Arnold area working for various farmers. As a young man he worked in the CC Camp at Ravenna.

Everett married Edna Gallingtos on May 15, 1937 in Arnold. He continued working in the Arnold area before moving his family south of Sutherland in the late 1940’s. Everett continued to be employed in farming until 1957 when his boss sold his land and moved away. He then pumped gravel in Paxton and during the construction of Interstate 80. He retired when he was sixty two. Everett enjoyed fishing, camping playing cards.

Survivors include a daughter, Norma and husband Ron Goossen of Ogallala; two sons, Dale and Mary Jo Rutt of Denver, CO and Larry Rutt of Clarksville, AR; five grandsons; two granddaughters; six great granddaughters; one brother, Marvin "Jack" Bruce; many nieces and nephews and special friends, Moss and Diane Sanford of Arnold, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two sons, two half brothers and two half sisters.

Cremation was chosen. Graveside inurnment services will be held at the Arnold Cemetery at a later date.
