Holmstedt
Elizabeth “Betty” Holmstedt, age 83 of Paxton, passed away Thursday
evening, November 5, 2009 at the Sutherland Care Center.
Betty was born March 12, 1926 on the family farm south of Paxton in
Perkins County, the daughter of George and Anna (Schram) Perlinger.
She attended country grade school thru the 8th grade and then helped
on the family farm caring for her younger brothers and sisters.
Betty married Robert “Joe” Holmstedt in Paxton on August 26, 1947.
She lived her entire life in the Paxton area. She was a member of
St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She had enjoyed
the care and good food at the Sutherland Care Center for the past
three months.
Betty sold greeting cards, cleaned the Catholic Church, enjoyed
making crafts items, playing in a card club and especially enjoyed
her many friends and neighbors in Paxton. All these things were done
while raising four children in the house her husband built.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ann Perlinger;
husband, Joe Holmstedt; son, Chuck Holmstedt; son in law, Jim
Johnson; sister, Margie Hayes; brother, Ed Perlinger; and nephew
Scott Perlinger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday,
November 9, 2009 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Bryan
Ernest as celebrant. Burial will be in the Paxton Cemetery. Rosary
will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Online
