Edward Welch, Jr.

Edward D. Welch, Jr., age 56 of Ogallala, passed away Tuesday evening, April 26, 2011 at his father’s home in Ogallala.

Ed was born June 2, 1954 in Denville, New Jersey, the son of Edward and Zella (Carpenter) Welch. After completing his schooling he served in the U.S. Air Force for two years.

Survivors include his life partner, Jonie of Ogallala; a daughter, Amanda; a son Chris; his father, Edward Welch, Sr.; three brothers, Stephen, Pat and Greg; and four grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Zella, a son, Erick, and sisters, Carol Ann and Constance Marie.

A Memorial Mass was held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2011 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Ogallala with Fr. Bryan Ernest as celebrant. A memorial has been established to St. Luke’s Catholic Church in his memory in lieu of flowers.
