Dorothy M. McQuay, age 86 of Ogallala, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Indian Hills Manor Nursing Home.

She was born September 27, 1921 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota the daughter of Frank and Agda Welden. Dorothy attended schools and graduated from high school in Detroit Lakes. She was married to William Dillon McQuay on October 1, 1943 in Detroit Lakes.

Dorothy had been employed in the business office of the Ogallala Medical Clinic for over twenty years before her retirement. She had been a longtime and active member of the Ogallala United Methodist Church.

Survivors include:

One son, David and wife Rhonda McQuay of North Platte

Two grandchildren, Bryan and wife Meredith McQuay of Alma, NE

Angela and husband Kirk Woltman of Lincoln, NE

Three great grandchildren, Peyton and Grant McQuay

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Roger Dillon McQuay who was killed in the Viet Nam War; and a brother, Donald Welden.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30^th at the Ogallala United Methodist Church with Pastor James Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Ogallala Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her memory to the church. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Gubser Funeral Home.
