Denton Holz

Denton Max Holz, age 48 of Ogallala, passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 as a result of an automobile accident south of Ogallala.

 

He was born February 19, 1961 at Laramie, Wyoming the son of Calvin and Edith (Fisher) Holz. His family moved to Fresno, California in 1966 where Denton attended Vinland Grade School. After graduating from McLane High School in Fresno, Denton worked in construction in the Fresno area until moving to Omaha in 1992.

 

Denton married Connie Schneider on June 12, 1993 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple lived in Omaha where Denton worked for Jay Smith Construction. In 1994, Denton and Connnie moved to Ogallala where Denton was employed by Ness Construction. Denton has been the head of maintenance at Paxton Consolidated Schools since 1997.

Denton enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was able to fix nearly everything and constantly worked on projects at home and at school. Denton was also a creative cook. He loved kids and strived to make the school safe, welcoming and fun.

His wife, Connie Holz of Ogallala

Three sisters, Susan and husband Manuel Lopez of Clovis, CA

Rebecca and husband Keith Oddieo of Carson City, NV

Christi and husband Don Steinhauer of Fresno, CA

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Edith Holz

 

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10th at the Ogallala New Hope Church with Pastor Eric Wait officiating. Burial will be in the Paxton Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the Gubser Funeral Home. The casket will not be open at the church. Online condolences may be sent at gubserfuneralhome.com.

 

Memorials in Denton’s memory may be made to the Perkins County Animal Shelter or the Paxton Schools Foundation.
