Carol Clapp

Carol Belinda Clapp, age 55 of Arthur, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2010, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.  Carol was lovingly known as "Karrie" and "Momma Clapp" by her friends and family.

Carol was born February 26, 1955 at Grant, Nebraska, the daughter of Frenchie Carol and Mary (Larsen) Clapp.  After her brother, Blane, was born the family moved to Anaheim, California.  In June of 1957 they returned to Nebraska for the funeral of Carol's great-grandmother, Almira Newbanks.  They lived in different locations in Arthur and Keith counties until March of 1959 when they moved back to California, living in San Diego and San Jose.

Carol graduated from Campbell High School in Campbell, California in 1973.  She was baptized at the Church of Christ in Santa Clara, California in 1989 and later baptized again in the Assembly of God Church in Chowchilla, California.  Carol was blessed with her first born, Dustin Spencer Clapp, on September 21, 1989.  On October 17, 1991 she had twin boys, David Martin and Dillon Bruce Clapp.

In late 1992, Carol and her three sons moved from San Jose to the country near Chowchilla..  Soon after that her father, Frenchie, came to live with them.  She was a devoted and caring daughter and mother.  She lived her life for her three sons.  In rural Chowchilla she was employed for nine years at the Alview Elementary School and in the upper grades at the Dairyland School as a special education aide.  She was well liked by all her students and inspired many lives.

In 2005 Carol helped her mother, Mary Muller, move to the Larsen Ranch in Arthur County.  She then returned to California to move herself and her three sons to Arthur County, which had been her dream, to live in Nebraska.

Carol was a loving mother who adored her children and had a loving and special relationship with her nieces and nephews and everyone who was around her.
