Betty Knothe
Betty J. Knothe, age 88 of Ogallala, passed away on Friday,
September 3, 2010, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
Betty was born August 12, 1922 at Superior, Nebraska, the daughter
of Kenneth O. and Elsie (Hasemeyer) Potter. She grew up and attended
schools in Superior, graduating from high school in 1940. She moved
to Denver, Colorado where she was employed by the Montgomery Ward
corporation until her marriage to A. Rex Knothe in 1946. The couple
resided in Superior until 1957 when they moved to Ogallala.
Betty was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church, the Altar Society
and the Rosary Group. She also belonged to the Highland Project Club
and several bridge groups.
Survivors include:
One daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Warner of Overland Park, Kansas
One son, James (Donna) Knothe of Paxton, NE
Sister in law, Phyllis Knothe of Bentonville, AR
Brother in law, Milan Sarchet of Ogallala
Two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Knothe; and a sister,
Catherine Dillman.
Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8th at
St. Luke's Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at
10:00 a.m. with Father Bryan Ernest as celebrant. Burial will be in
the Ogallala Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at
the Gubser Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent at

memory.
