Bernice Swisher, age 82, a former Windsor, Colorado resident, passed away Sunday morning, April 6, 2008 at her daughter’s rural Brule home.

She was born January 17, 1926 in Taylor, Texas. She grew up and attended schools in Taylor and the Freeport area. Following her graduation she moved to Oceanside, California where she worked during World War II and met her husband, John F. Swisher. They were married on December 17, 1944 in Alexander, Virginia and moved to Dowagiac, Michigan in 1946. The couple moved to Longmont, Colorado in 1962. Bernice moved to the Brule area with her daughter and son in law in 2003. Bernice worked as a cosmetologist for twenty years and for Krogers Grocery for six years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Swisher.

She is survived by:

Her daughter, Nancy and husband James Drake of Brule, NE

Son, John and wife Toni Swisher of Greeley, CO

Brother, Walter and wife Lillian Schoen of Danbury, TX

14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends.

Cremation was chosen. Inurnment will be in the Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado at a later date.
