A.E. “Pee Wee” Wolfe

A.E. “Pee Wee” Wolfe, age 86, a former longtime Ogallala resident, passed away at his home in Lincoln, Nebraska on Monday evening, November 17, 2008.

Pee Wee was born May 20, 1922 in Cambridge, Nebraska the son of Floyd E. and Jane (Steel) Wolfe.  Following his graduation from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 11, 1942, serving in the Pacific Theatre in the Medical Department of the 185th Infantry.  He was discharged on November 15, 1945.  He married Irene C. McCarville on January 18, 1946 in Norton, Kansas.  Pee Wee was a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, a member of the Ogallala United Methodist Church and a member of St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska.

He was a proud and grateful participant in the first Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. in May of 2008.

Survivors include:

His wife, Irene of Lincoln, NE

One son, Kenneth and wife Nancy Wolfe of Lincoln, NE

Granddaughter, Jessica Wolfe of Lincoln, NE

Sisters in law, Lorraine West of North Platte, Nebraska

                      Kathryn McCarville of Oshkosh, Nebraska

And many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and a son, Randy Wolfe.

Cremation was chosen.  Graveside services with military honors will be held on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. (CST) at the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery south of Maxwell, Nebraska with Pastor Jim Miller of the Ogallala United Methodist Church officiating.
